Dior is inspired by the circus creating an imaginary that breaks with the conventional patterns of hyperfeminity.
La maisonis once again one of the first firms to present their new creations. For the SS19 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of the Dior house, has conquered the public with a proposal whose beginning already guaranteed success thanks to a circus scenario where a group of acrobats gave way to models along the catwalk.
Tulle, shine and transparencieshave been the protagonists of a show where the looks had as common denominator a shining cap and a hairnet covering the face. The collection reimagines the classic circus with oversized bow ties, cuts that evoke the harlequin costume and other elements that have created a whole universe of romantic elegance in Fashion Week.
The classical Dior romanticism has come from long dresses with transparencies, tulle and floaty fabrics that have helped to link a perfect dichotomy with proposals of more basic or neutral colors, such as red, black or white. The proposal of Maria Grazia Chiuri for the firm is a perfect combination of hyper-feminine aesthetics with pretty-punk airs.
