This was stated by the artist in a recent interview on ABC News’ Prime Playlist.
PinkPantheress, one of the most acclaimed artists of the last year, has made her mark in the music industry with tracks such as ‘Boy’s a liar’ with Ice Spice and ‘Nice to meet you’ in collaboration with Central Cee. Her latest single, ‘Turn it up’ was released last Friday and is inspired by Selena‘s hit ‘Dreaming of You’, and tells the love story between a woman named Maria and an anonymous man.
In a recent interview with ABC News, the young Brit responded to the oft-repeated question of why her songs are so short, to which she replied firmly that “a song doesn’t need to be longer than two and a half minutes. We don’t need to repeat a verse. We don’t need to have a bridge. We don’t need another long one”.
Moreover, she confesses that she came to this conclusion after experimenting with short songs and understanding this theory that she now defends. Her longest track so far is ‘Capable’, at 3 minutes and 43 seconds, something very unusual for her, as if we compare the singles included in her mixtape ‘To Hell With It’ only three out of ten are longer than two minutes.
And speaking of musical novelties… The producer SHB tells us about his beginnings in the industry, his latest projects and how he has evolved over the last ten years.
