Acne Studios goes back to basics and redesigns denim

Acne Studios has unveiled a denim collection for FW21 that channels the brand’s roots and draws inspiration from the countryside.

Acne Studios has unveiled a denim collection for Autumn/Winter 2021 that channels the brand’s roots. The brand’s origins date back to 1996, when Jonny Johansson, the house’s creative director, designed 100 pairs of jeans with red stitching to give to loved ones.

Initially nicknamed “Acne” when it started producing jeans with red stitching, the brand has grown into the Acne Studios line we know today. For Johansson, denim represents the ideal material to work with and is a reminder of her beginnings. That’s why, in her latest FW21 collection, she takes inspiration from this crucial part of the brand’s character and creates five pairs of jeans.

The new Acne Studios collection is inspired by retro camping and outdoor life. As such, the denim used has a distressed look that exudes a more casual attitude linked to nature. Even some of the options also feature deconstructed treatments and multiple patches.  Trousers come in different silhouettes of straight leg, slim fit or more flared.

The Autumn/Winter 2021 denim collection is now available in all Acne Studios shops and on the brand’s website.
