Y-3 Atelier focuses on the craftsmanship and state-of-the-art design methods that have made the collaboration between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto so successful.
It is a new division that seeks to highlight cutting-edge craftsmanship as well as innovation in design processes, broadening the perspective of the association. It will also continue to explore the meeting of sportswear and high fashion.
Each of the Y-3 Atelier collections will focus on a unique story of the Japanese designer‘s vision. The central axis around which this season’s collections will be inspired is the word ‘Monozukuri’ which, translated into English, means ‘production’. Thus, the first line refers to the timeless codes of adidas, materialised in asymmetric dresses, basic suits, loose-fitting trousers and oversize trench coats, among other pieces.
The first Y-3 Atelier collection will be launched tomorrow through SSENSE and will also be available at the pop-up store located in Paris (42 Rue de Sévigné).
