Adish, which in Hebrew means “apathetic“, is a Tel Aviv-based brand that seeks to fuse Middle Eastern culture with high-end streetwear. Entitled “Area A“, the collection is inspired by Palestinian taxi drivers from the West Bank. The name of the collection comes from the West Bank area controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
The main objective of the founders Amit Luzon and Eyal Eliyahu is to use their creations as a means to change things and mark a turning point in the socio-political dynamics of their region.
Adish SS19
As in previous collections, SS19 focuses on the political situation in Israel and Palestine, drawing inspiration from the clothes worn by taxi drivers, which they describe as “the very sartorial expression of a battle for survival”.
Influenced by this “totally indescribable” way of dressing, the collection includes classic pieces such as long-sleeved T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and denim jackets. The motifs throughout the collection include traditional embroidery and a “VIP” graphic – a nod to the special situation of bored people in “Area C”.
