All the details of the first Glenn Martens x Diesel fragrance

Glenn Martens surprises us again this summer by launching his first Diesel fragrance that smells like jeans. Did you imagine that?

Everything he touches seems to turn to gold, from the new look for Diesel, where he is creative director, to the stunning collections for Y/Project. Now, Glenn Martens surprises us again by launching his first Diesel fragrance that smells like jeans. Did you imagine that?

Nowadays, any fashion brand encompasses more than just clothing. It’s about generating a lifestyle and creating a community around your universe that encompasses different aspects such as make-up lines, fragrances and skin care products, among many other things. Glenn Martens is echoing this and after launching a collection of sex toys in collaboration with Lelo, he now presents his first fragrance as creative director of Diesel.

D by Diese is the new genderless fragrance created in collaboration with L’Oreal and perfumers Nisrine Grillié, Shyamala Maisondieu and Louise Turner. A warm and joyful scent that the creative director describes as a continuation of Diesel’s identity. Given how closely the fragrance is linked to the spirit of the brand and Martens’ undeniable obsession with materials, it’s no surprise that denim was his main inspiration.

“What’s really amazing with the fragrance is that you can, in one product, sum up the whole brand,” says Glenn Martens. “The perfume reconfirms everything we’ve been doing for the brand and our community”. He adds: “A good pair of jeans, well-cut, good quality, will be present in every moment of your life. You wear it with your high heels and you can go to cocktail parties, you wear it with trainers, you wear it with hiking boots, it really becomes part of you.”

Presented in a recyclable, refillable bottle with a cap designed to resemble the rivets on a pair of Diesel jeans, the vegan D b and Diesel fragrance contains notes of cotton, along with sustainably sourced bourbon vanilla from Madagascar, lavender from Provence and notes of ginger. You can now get your hands on Diesel’s perfume on their website.

And now… why not take a look at Chloe Sevigny’s stunning wedding dress designed by Glenn Martens?
