Apple unveils new smart lock

Apple has unveiled its latest home technology product: a smart lock that unlocks with your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Level Lock+ by Level Home is an exterior door lock that is described as the smallest and most secure smart lock on the market. The lock comes in the following combinations “Satin Nickel” and “Matte Black” and is currently only available in the U.S. The lock uses a hidden CR2 battery that powers the NFC connection, which is what your iPhone or Apple Watch would use to unlock the door.

“In the space of a traditional lock, you can get completely new ways for everyone to access your home. With Home Keys, simply tap to unlock Level Lock+ using your iPhone or Apple Watch,” the product description reads. In addition to the devices, users can simply use their voice to ask Siri to unlock the door. With the Level app, access can be shared among family and friends.
