London Men’s Fashion Week, LFW, kicks off today. For the first time, the LFWM operations centre is located in the heart of the East End, within the Truman Brewery space in Shoreditch.
Everything started this morning at 09:00 with the Art School fashion show, where yet another year the extravagances of fashion have run down the runway. The brand’s proposal has been aggressive, completely ignoring the gender role – real unisex – and provoking opinions of black or white … there is no place for gray.
A new proposal by the duo Eden Loweth and Tom Barratt that consolidates the London brand as one of the most interesting “luxury-queer” names on the current scene.
Art School FW19
Over the next three days, a mix of established faces and new talent will show what they have created for the upcoming FW19 season. Charles Jeffrey, Iceberg, Liam Hodges and Edward Crutchley top the list this Saturday. But no doubt it will be tomorrow – Sunday – is one of the most interesting days. Among the shows and presentations are names like Kent & Curwen by David Beckham, Chalayan, Kiko Kostadinov or Fashion East.
Many of you will be looking forward to Monday, the day Craig Green returns home after last season’s Pitti Uomo departure. Samuel Ross of A-Cold-Wall* or Paria Farzaneh will also have their moment to shine that last day, before we head to Florence where the 95th Pitti Uomo will take place, with Y-Project as this year’s guest designer.
What can be expected is too difficult to predict, but what is known is that the guidelines for the next winter season have started today.
