Audemars Piguet unveils two unique versions of the Royal Oak Frosted Gold Automatic

Offering two special finishes in 18-carat white and 18-carat yellow gold.

With a dial decorated in ‘Crystal Sand’ that complements the ‘Frosted Gold’ hammered surface of the case and bracelet, the monochrome watches feature contrasting details of great refinement and a fascinating interplay of light and texture. Equipped with the Calibre 5800, they are fitted with a 34 mm bracelet to fit slimmer wrists and highlight the unique tradition and vision of AP Haute Horlogerie.

The engraved motif, painstakingly crafted by the watchmaker’s craftsmen, is designed from the profile of a genuine ruthenium crystal. The stamping mould has been constructed atom by atom through a metal deposition process known as electroforming. In order to complete the monochrome look, the colour of the new motif is achieved by galvanic plating, using rhodium plating and gold plating respectively, which enhances the depth of the design and its luminosity.

Both options beat at a frequency of 4 Hz and have a power reserve of 50 hours thanks to the Calibre 5800 specially designed for the Royal Oak 34 mm collection, which was launched in 2020. The mechanism is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
