Awake NY Spring 23: ‘From the Soul’

The new Awake NY collection is inspired by the urban culture of New York City.

Awake NY is the culmination of a decades-long creative career in New York, a label with the purpose of empowering young people who once served as the muses of streetwear culture. The new collection includes T-shirts with the iconic logo, short-sleeved shirts, cardigans and floral print waistcoats. There are also tracksuit, Harrington and varsity jackets.

However, the two most unique pieces in the collection are the Alpha Industries MA-1 bomber jacket with knitted collar and cuffs and a T-shirt featuring a photo of Miles Davis playing his trumpet in Central Park. The photo on the T-shirt, taken in 1970, was from the Miles Davis Septet’s performance at Wollman Rink for the Schaefer Beer Music Festival. This image encapsulates the energy of the entire collection. “Awake is jazz, we operate from the soul,” said Baque.

The Awake NY Spring 23 collection will be available at the Awake NY webshop from 19 May.
