Bad Bunny explains why he threw out a fan’s mobile phone

After recently appearing in a video of himself throwing a fan’s mobile phone into the water, Bad Bunny explained, via Twitter, why he did it.

After being named Spotify’s most played artist for the third year in a row, Bad Bunny is back in the spotlight for recently appearing in a video throwing a fan’s mobile phone into the water. The singer has not hesitated to explain, via Twitter, why he did it.

A recent video, which was filmed in the Dominican Republic, shows a crowd of fans surrounding the singer as he walks down a street. Among the fans walking alongside him, a young woman stands in front of the Colombian, with the front camera open on her phone, at which point Bad Bunny can be seen grabbing the device and throwing it away. Then an off-camera viewer shouts “Wow! Really?” while someone in the artist’s entourage responds, “You have to respect his space.”

Many have criticised Bad Bunny for how he handled the situation, however, many others support that artists cannot be approached like this on the street. Via Twitter, the Puerto Rican singer wanted to explain his actions: “Anyone who comes up to me to say hello, tell me something or just to meet me, will always receive my attention and respect,” Bad Bunny wrote. But “those who come to put a damn phone in my face, I will consider it what it is: a lack of respect and I will treat it the same way”.
