Having topped the Index list for the third and fourth quarters of 2021, Balenciaga continues to position itself as the most desirable brand this year.
Demna‘s vision continues to set the rules of fashion. And anyone who says otherwise is lying. So says the Index report, whose data reveals that the brand grew by 108% in the first quarter of 2022. There are several reasons for this: either its unrivalled understanding of digital fashion codes or its exclusive brand ambassadors Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber. Its most prominent product? The Defender Sneaker, a tyre-inspired silhouette.
Gucci remains in second place despite unveiling its unexpected collaboration with adidas and presenting the long-awaited second part of its collection with The North Face. Louis Vuitton manages to climb up to third place after unveiling Virgil Abloh‘s latest collection, while Prada, Valentino and Dior occupy the lower spots in the ranking.
And although Diesel is not in the top 10, it is worth noting its significant rise in the list. The Glenn Martens-led brand has risen from 46th to 15th place thanks to its FW22 collection, entering the Lyst Index for the first time. Miu Miu has also grown in popularity after the hype caused by its iconic mini skirt, becoming the third hottest women’s product.
As for the most desirable products of Q1, we find the aforementioned Defender Sneakers by Balenciaga; the New Balance 550 by Aimé Leon Dore; Prada loafers and clogs by The Fear of God.
