Balenciaga SS20 | Echo of past codes

Balenciaga brings us their SS20 collection through a lookbook that does not risk and follows the lines or codes established in previous collections.

A large number of square toe moccasins, heeled sandals and the iconic Track 2 shoes provide a solid base for the upper layers. This time it looks like we’re dressing from the feet.

Elegant one-button jackets and oversize knit sweaters coexist with pleated skirts or pants with the drop of a pyjama. Stone and acid washed denim, one of Gvasalia’s favourites, is presented in the form of five-pocket jeans, while coats and shirts play at being disproportionate. Bombers and technical parkas bring the utilitarian touch so present lately.

The tribute to Paris is evident in the prints, while the aesthetics of a rave are mixed with designs inherent to couture.

To the proposal must be added the typical sweatshirts, T-shirts and accessories such as bags, crossbags and many sunglasses.

Balenciaga’s SS20 collection is already in some of its stores, although the bulk is expected to arrive in mid-January.
