In such an important struggle for self-esteem, actress Barbie Ferreira, who stars in Euphoria, says the series has served as a therapeutic process for her.
During the second episode of the second season of Euphoria, Kat‘s character experiences a crisis of self-love in which different characters encourage her to be comfortable with her own physique. For her, this scene was a kind of ‘therapy’ that contributed to her well-being and positivity in the fight against prejudice and in favour of both physical and mental self-love.
“I feel like a lot of emotional stuff came up for me because of the pandemic, and putting some of that into this season was therapeutic for me,” Ferreira says. “I hope that other people who watch it can also feel the same way and get rid of the pressure to be perfect and happy all the time. Because there’s no such thing.”
The actress uses the occasion to launch a global message in which she advocates that “bigger bodies are not as ‘in’ as they used to be, which is very sad to me. But it’s more of a conversation about the fact that we all struggle with self-love, and I don’t think any young people have figured that out yet.”
And speaking of mental health… Bella Hadid speaks openly about her relationships and the abuse she suffered.
