On the last day of London Fashion Week, Self-Portrait presented its spring-summer 2022 collection through an emotional lookbook interpreted by Bella Hadid.
Iconic photographer Harley Weir dives into that sentimental ocean to capture the editorial’s narrative: to show the different facets of the model’s character and the different personalities of the Self-Portrait woman.
“When I think of the Self-Portrait woman, I never have just one person in mind; for me, the joy of what I do comes from designing for women with different personalities, different attitudes and different ways of living their lives,” shared Han Chong, founder and creative director of the ready-to-wear brand, in a press release.
Creatively stimulated by post-pandemic fashion, Chong materializes for the SS22 season a constellation of pieces for the contemporary woman. “After what seems like a life spent indoors, I was inspired to design a modern approach to dressing: strong and feminine styles, but always soft and relaxed at the same time,” conceded the designer.
Focusing on the lookbook, we can see Hadid wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress, a cut-out dress colored in pink, and a long-sleeved bodice paired with a pastel purple skirt.
