Beyoncé’s childhood home burns down on Christmas Day

This property is not just any house for the artist Beyoncé as it is the place where she lived until she was 5 years old.

Beyoncé’s childhood home burns down on Christmas Day

Christmas got off to the worst possible start at 2400 Rosedale in Houston, where the home known for being Beyoncé’s childhood home for five years is located. At around 2am on Christmas Day, one of the places where the singer grew up was on fire in the middle of the night.

The city’s fire service arrived on the scene about five minutes later and took 10 minutes to put it out. As the Associated Press reports, the family currently living there – a couple and two young children – escaped safely from the fire, the cause of which is still unknown.

Located in the historic Riverside Terrace neighbourhood, the residence was built in 1946. Beyoncé’s family, the Knowles, bought the house in 1981 and Beyoncé lived there until she was five years old. Then, when Solange was born in 1986, they moved to another residence in the city.

Here is the trailer for ‘Renaissance: a film by Beyoncé’.
