Black Mirror returns this June with its sixth season starring Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek, Michael Cera and more.
After four years, the British sci-fi series officially returns this June on Netflix. The first trailer is now available, promising that this will be “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected season to date”.
Charlie Brooker, creator, writer and executive producer of Black Mirror commented, “I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should present stories that are totally different from each other, and keep surprising people – and myself – or else what’s the point? It should be a series that is hard to define and able to reinvent itself.”
“Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both myself and the viewer, I started this season by deliberately turning some of my own assumptions about what to expect upside down,” Brooker added. “Consequently, this time around, along with some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes, we also have some new elements, including some that I had previously sworn the series would never do, to expand the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ is. The stories are still Black Mirror through and through, but with some crazy twists and more variety than ever.”
The new cast comes loaded with stars like Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Auden Thornton, Ben Barnes, Clara Rugaard, Daniel Portman, Danny Ramirez, David Shields, Himesh Patel, John Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Rory Culkin, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin and Zazie Beetz.
