Chilean designer María Pía Cornejo lands at MFW

After Vancouver and New York Fashion Week, Chilean designer María Pía Cornejo will be presenting her ninth collection in Italy.

On 22 September, the designer will be presenting her new sustainable collection “Liverta” on the catwalk of Fashion Vibes, the organisation in charge of promoting emerging designers within the framework of MFW. With “a much more vibrant bet in which the search for freedom and the urgency of sustainable fashion are the pillars of creation”.

“We use linen and cotton garments, which have been left out of the market, to give them a second chance by intervening with different techniques such as hand-painting, screen printing, foil stamping, and different embroidery applications,” explains Cornejo. Among the highlights of the collection: fuchsias, greens and oranges are the protagonists of a fresh and lively line.

María Pía Cornejo‘s work began in the wardrobe department of Televisión Nacional de Chile; she has worked for Cirque du Soleil and Madonna’s MDNA tour. Her new proposal Liverta is the continuation of her proposals Zirconia (2016); Politrópolis (2017); Metallic Lights (2018); Healing (2019); Alma (2020); Rebirth (2021); Duality (2022) and World of Children (2023).
