Located at Calle Andrés Borrego, 8, between the mythical Pez and Luna streets in Malasaña, ChinChin is the new cocktail bar that everyone is talking about. Inspired by the Sunset Boulevard aesthetic of 1930s Hollywood, ChinChin promises to be the new meeting place for Madrid’s creative scene.
This cocktail bar, which promises to become a representative icon of the true spirit of Madrid, joins other successful projects run by stylist Laura Vandall and DJ and manager Edgar Kerri (Lucky Dragon, Club Malasaña and ChaChá) along with Alex de Lucas, Lola Rodriguez, Edu Por Las Noches and Enrique Lopez Lavigne. Under the creative direction of the most iconic couple of Madrid’s nightlife and the advice of interior designer Victoria Solano of Hello Verbena studio, the cocktail bar is characterised by an enveloping interior design: the walls and ceilings are upholstered in jacquard with cat motifs.
ChinChin was born out of the need to recover the essence of the classic. This space is inspired by a historical moment when there was no inclusivity, and where minorities could not access exclusive clubs, so characterised by oak furniture, carpets and ostentatious glassware. In this way, ChinChin aims to be a safe space and bring this classic luxury – which could only be enjoyed by a select few – to the capital’s creative and LGTBIQ+ communities. A place for everyone who wants to meet and be seen.
ChinChin brings back the over-the-top luxury of Sunset Boulevard in the 1930s, the street that was a cultural icon of Hollywood celebrity over-the-top luxury, but with a revamped feel. A space that has already seen the likes of Natalia Lacunza, Arón Piper, Judeline, Nathy Peluso, Manu Ríos, Esther Expósito, Ana Castillo, Fernando Valdivieso and many more There, you can enjoy the best cocktails to the rhythm of electronica, electrocumbia, salsa, but also boleros.
