Urban artist Chito has already put his stamp on the new Givenchy x Matthew M. Williams era. Now, a selection of pieces from their joint pre-collection for Spring 2022 are released.
Chito‘s graffiti art outlines the Parisian brand’s “Spring 2022” proposal celebrating the creative director’s American roots, and his current Parisian residence.
The Seattle-born creative reinterprets a series of iconic archival pieces from the house through airbrushed graphics, connecting his artistic language with Williams‘ fashion. “We share that storyline; we speak the same language. Like me, he expresses his distinctive visual signatures through unique pieces that give people total freedom to make the creations their own personal statement,” the creative director says of the creative union.
The collection includes a selection of T-shirts, jackets, and accessories on which the artist’s signature characters are drawn, such as his animated dog or the pop-inspired “Truehearted” piece.
Focusing on the hardware accessories, they offer a fresh take on the traditional line of bags through chains or strap accents. Likewise, the luxurious harnesses embellished with crystals show off their revered contrasts between architectural pieces and asymmetries.
