The famous photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis wanted to pay tribute to her late father, to whom she owes her passion for photography, in her first collaboration with Converse. The central symbolism of the collection is the image of flowers, with which she expresses the message: “give man his flowers”.
Shaniqwa remembers his parents always accompanied by a camera. The strong influence of the family awakened her interest in the visual language of photography. His first project with Converse is a tribute to his family and the community that defined the first image of itself and its future as a photographer.
With this spirit, Converse and Shaniqwa collaborate in the Chuck Taylor All Star CX, which incorporate the last technology CX off Converse to offer a new approach to comfort in the iconic shoe. The design of the top of the Chuck Taylor All Star, becomes an elastic canvas that exposes the original digital print of one of his favorite photos: a double exposure image taken on a trip to Mexico.
The floral tones of the shoe contrast with the crisp white of the reed. A translucent lining extends the floral print to the sole of the shoe. The translucency also reveals the foam of Converse CX. It is an innovative pair of single density PU insoles and a lightweight phylon midsole for lasting comfort.
The capsule collection will be available worldwide on August 13 at official website of Converse and in selected retailers like: SVD, Foot District and Minishop. The price of the Converse x Shaniqwa Jarvis Chuck Taylor CX will be 100 euros and the sweatshirt 80 euros.
