Following its recent sportswear collection, COS SS21 has now introduced sustainable denim for the spring/summer season. The latest collection brings together everyday basics ranging from jeans to shirts.
The new denim collection comes as part of COS’ sustainability initiative. The new initiative, called Resell, is in line with the brand’s philosophy of offering quality products that will last. Unlike classic denim designs, the label has eliminated rivets to reduce the use of plastic. In addition, the pieces are made from recycled or organic cotton.
For the women’s line, the collection includes pieces with innovative fits, such as high-waist and mid-waist jeans. While the menswear line includes slim, straight and wide fit pieces designed to be worn season after season. Each silhouette comes in different washes ranging from lighter to darker. Double-lined seams and patch pockets reinvent classic looks.
The H&M group brand is very committed to sustainability. By 2030, if not sooner, it wants to achieve 100% recycled, reused or more sustainably sourced materials. In addition, COS global sustainability director Francesca Lilley says: “We believe it is also essential to drive positive change in the communities we are a part of and throughout the product lifecycle.”
