Reebok and Cottweiler bring their contemporary imaginations together once again in a collection that revolves around the new Zig 3D Storm Hydro. The head-to-toe, head-to-toe, head-to-toe collection combines old-world inspiration and natural materials with new-age technologies and cutting-edge lines.
The cult label co-led by Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty and Reebok continue the episodes of their Zig 3D Storm Hydro-centric saga. This new iteration for the spring-summer 2021 season is a continuation and update of a collaboration that began last year.
The sneaker features a construction in a variety of earth-toned tech materials, complemented by black rubber panels. The usual laces are now replaced by an elasticated lacing system, adjoined by a corduroy upper quarter that extends to the toe. On the sidewall, there is a thin purple glow-in-the-dark stripe along with other reflective details. The “Cottweiler” branding is printed on the back, while the two-tone midsole finishes off the retro-futuristic sporty design.
THE PAST CONNECTS WITH THE FUTURE
Accompanying the footwear, we find a series of 9 pieces of apparel and accessories woven, for the most part, in linen and natural cotton dyed with pigments. We see how the garments follow the aesthetic philosophy of the footwear, combining the old world with new technology. The linen ensemble includes a jacket that can be transformed into a waistcoat, as well as houndstooth trousers: pieces constructed from seersucker and solid fabrics.
Meanwhile, the natural pigment-dyed line features jumpers, shorts, and a hooded sweatshirt, all with an inverted stitching pattern that references the old shapes of Reebok garments.
Closing the collection are accessories such as socks, a bag and a cap, all within the neutral-themed color palette. Cottweiler x Reebok “New Age Traveller” will be available worldwide from 14 May at Reebok.co.uk and selected retailers.
