Following its recent collaboration with Ghana skatepark, Virgil Abloh and Off-White, Daily Paper SS21 now presents its spring/summer collection entitled “Future Roots”. A line that pays homage to the brand’s African origins, but with an eye towards the future.
Paying tribute to its African roots, the new “Future Roots” collection combines tradition with the latest trends. The union of these two elements, in principle antagonistic, is reflected in the fabrics chosen for the line. After a long research with indigenous materials, they decided to reinterpret them with satin inserts, embroidery, denim and draping.
Daily Paper SS21 has been influencing new generations for seasons, encouraging them to create new identities through fashion. “If you always try to be normal, you’ll never know how amazing you can be”, is the vindicating slogan that is present in the different garments. The brand‘s African origins are still present in its designs, but from a more contemporary point of view.
“Future Roots” also introduces a new monogram print across the brown two-piece suit. The collection also includes designs inspired by school uniforms from the 60s and 70s, as well as denim workwear. Nor the embroidered white dresses, bikinis or the tracksuit trend for its spring/summer 2021 line.
You can already see the complete “Future Roots” collection and the lookbook on Daily Paper SS21’s social networks and get your hands on the garments on their website from 22 January.
