At a time when everyone is still rowing in the same direction and sticking to streetwear as a form of expression, Kim Jones (@mrkimjones) has decided to leave the trend that he began, and he decided to start to explore the good work of Dior’s women’s archives and propose a collection where the most classic pattern and fashion coexist with the designer’s inherent roots.
Among the most striking collaborations of the proposal is the one he has made with the well-known Kaws (@kaws), who has reinterpreted the iconic Dior’s bee.

Searching through the archives of the maison has led Kim to a mix of influences that result in pure haute couture that we miss so much lately. Fine tailoring patterns, applied to an endless number of fabrics, inspired by the works of Slimane or Kris Van Assche; all this is Dior Homme SS19.
Kim Jones also wanted to surround herself with the best for her first collection. To do this, he worked with Yoon Ahn (@yoon_ambush) to design the jewellery and Matthew Williams (@matthewmwilliams) – Alyx – to design the accessories. With this equipment nothing could go wrong.

“The craftsmanship here is second to none, but it’s very different to Vuitton. Vuitton is a manufacturing-based process. Here, it’s a couture-based process. “

An antithesis of the current trend in which Jones relies on a palette of sober and pure colours; colour is secondary to design and pattern.
In the presentation the new shoes of the house also caught all the attention, especially the ones with the classic Dior (@dior) monogram.
A proposal that has felt in love everyone. Nothing breakaway and inspired by Dior’s background. As Maria Grazia Chiuri (@mariagraziachiuri) has done so many times, Kim Jones has made the collection complete, fragile and modern… It just made us feel that we’re watching Dior – and that wasn’t easy work-… Well done Kim!
