Discover Robert Downey Jr.’s super bungalow in Malibu

Following a retro-futuristic aesthetic, Robert Downey Jr.’s lair is a true work of art created by Nicolò Bini.

More than 600,000 square metres, an estate of almost 3 hectares, a large swimming pool and a tennis court. All this and much more is part of Robert Downey Jr’s exclusive bungalow (dubbed by him as ‘Clubhouse’).

In a retro-futuristic aesthetic, the lair of the actor who plays the character of Iron Man is a true work of art. Created by Nicolò Bini, son of the industrial designer Dante, it is based on the Binishell construction created by his father. This architectural model is based on the creation of a neoprene air bladder which is then coated with nylon in concrete and reinforced with wet steel to slowly inflate it and achieve the inflated appearance.

The bungalow has two guest bedrooms, a foyer with a large aquarium, a large kitchen and dining area, a games room and a private cinema. All the details of the house are circular, such as the entrance door, the fibreglass partition and the paramedical windows, the work of the Fox-Nahem design studio. The furnishings include pieces by Paola Lenti, Machine Histories, Roche Bobois, Daniel Becker Studio and Calligaris.

And speaking of exclusive accommodations… Have you seen the most expensive penthouse in the United States?
