Ambush’s new collection for SS21 is a statement of good taste. With an eye to a bright future, the designer plays with duality and establishes new sensations. Soon the proposal will become the favourite of the season.
Ambush creative director Yoon Ahn (@yoon_ambush) has just presented her proposal for SS21. With a long professional career, the young designer has once again demonstrated her enormous creative capacity. With a clear objective to subvert stereotypes through fashion, Yoon establishes a collection focused on the idea of duality.
The essence lies in an apparent state of relaxation altered by uncertainty. She puts the focus on the use of leather and linen to create the perfect balance between apparent tranquility and the possible bleak future. The result is a set of timeless silhouettes somewhere between elegance and utility. The mix of fabrics such as denim or knitted details demonstrate the coherence in Ambush’s imagery. In addition, the colour range accompanies the collection’s mission. The earth tones take prominence, only accentuated by the black of the leather. The protagonists have been the two-piece sets, the tops with boat necks and the dresses. Thus, an oversized gabardine and a leather blazer stand out.
As you can see, Ambush SS21 does not follow any rules. However, the lookbook demonstrates a narrative marked by beauty and rudeness; here is the duality.
