The idyllic bread sofa by TOMMY CASH x IKEA

The rapper TOMM¥ €A$H has collaborated with IKEA to create a modular sofa in the shape of a loaf of bread by artist Gab Bois.

TOMM¥ €A$H created the world’s longest trainers with adidas, turned to McDonald’s for a “Sad Meal” and worked with Maison Margiela on a pair of loaf-ers. Now, the rapper has collaborated with IKEA to create a modular sofa in the shape of a loaf of bread by artist Gab Bois.

On his Instagram account, the rapper said: “Ikea told me if we get 10,000 comments on this post they will release the Loafa! Let’s show them that we need it”. No sooner had he shared the post than the Estonian artist surpassed this number, which is hardly surprising given his influence and ability to produce innovative content on the internet.

Sitting on the “LOAFA” in Margiela loafers on a circular carpet, Cash offers a closer look at the details of the sofa. It is a clear reinterpretation of Mario Bellini’s Camaleonda sofa, designed by the Italian in 1970, which has since become one of the most important pieces of modular furniture in the design world.

IKEA has not yet confirmed the “LOAFA” collaboration, but we may soon see a limited series of these sofas.
