When a union breaks up, it’s not uncommon for the ring to be kept, returned or even sold. For Emily Ratajkowski, the opportunities were many as she sought to turn over the ring that accompanied her during her marriage to producer and actor Sebastian Bear-McClard. Em Rat has been enjoying her new life as a single woman after two years of separation, and a few days ago, the model surprised her followers by showing off two rings of gigantic stones on her social media.
The rings are nothing more and nothing less than a resignification of her engagement ring by dividing it into two pieces which she called “divorce rings”. The jewellery, which was designed by New York-based jewellery house Alison Lou, was divided into two diamonds that would give life to two rings. Each diamond was cast in a different shape. The first almond-shaped one was for the little finger, while two diamonds were added to the other to give it a rectangular, horizontal shape.
