Dries Van Noten has just presented his Ready to Wear SS21 collection with reminiscences of the artist Lan Ley. Thus, this new proposal, full of energy and beauty without nostalgia, has been selected to create the imaginary around the designer’s atypical approach.
Dries Van Noten’s collections are based on clarity and a clear perception of reality. That is why the colours, prints and shapes are presented according to the designer’s mood. For this new season, Van Noten has channelled these codes in a more than deliberate way and according to the current circumstances. The result: an attractive proposal, full of energy and optimism.
The staging has been carried out through the work of Viviane Sassen and the inspiration taken from the work of the artist Len Lye. Van Noten decided not to organise a parade for digital presentations. Thus, attracted by the audacity and movement of Lye’s works, the collection was presented through dynamic photographs. The garments look great.
There are a lot of warm clothes like mackintoshes, parkas and jackets; also traditional cotton shirts and transparencies. As you can see, it constantly plays with the duality between beauty and simplified forms. Without ever leaving his emotions aside.
Undoubtedly, this collection brings the dose of dynamism that we all need. You can not miss it.
