California actor Angus Cloud, who rose to fame for his role in the HBO series Euphoria, died on Monday at the age of 25, his family announced in a press release.
“It is with the greatest sadness that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human being today. As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and struggled intensely with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now with his father, who was his best friend. Angus spoke openly about his battle with mental health and we hope his death can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not struggle with it in silence,” they wrote.
The statement concludes by wishing that “the world will remember him for his humour, laughter and love for all,” his family added. “We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss”. Added to which is the loss of his father a week ago. He himself posted on Instagram a photo of his smiling father in a red hoodie to say goodbye: ”I miss you.’‘ Cloud had travelled all the way to Dublin to bury his father. However, the actor passed away at his home in Oakland, California, a week later.
Cloud was a mainstay of Euphoria, where he played the camel Fez, almost a brother to the main character Rue (played by Zendaya). In the second and final season, the events that befell his character meant that his plot was left wide open, but he was scheduled to be involved in at least the first episode of the third season, which was to premiere in 2025. As he himself told The Hollywood Reporter, his character was going to die in the first episodes of the first season, but he liked it so much that they decided to keep him and give him more and more weight.
