ASICS’ advanced technology connects once again with Vivienne Westwood’s eco-futuristic imagery to present a new collection that puts the creative focus on the GEL-KAYANO 27 LTX.
The silhouette in question is reimagined through escapist patterns that take us back to Westwood and McLaren’s controversial 1974 “SEX” collection. That idea of transcending the status quo is once again reflected in these Kayano’s that have little to do with the punk/new wave British discourse of the now penultimate asics x Vivienne.
In sneaker boot form and with a futuristic aesthetic for every outsider, the unusual GEL-KAYANO 27 LTX is built with a medium stature. It also features a semi-translucent TPU shell inspired by latex socks from the Westwood archive.
The collaborative signature is printed below the zippered side collar, while contrasting design lines run down the silhouette to the toe. The bottom is reinforced with FLYTEFOAM cushioning to provide an extra-sensory experience with every stride.
That iconic iteration is declined in three colorways including the “Vapor/Black”, “Citrus/Black” and “Black/Black”, already available through Vivienne Westwood and ASICS for $240 each.
