Everything we experienced at Ortigia Sound System with K-Way

The H. team landed on the Island of Ortigia, Syracuse (Sicily) to witness the Ortigia Sound System and all the adventures that K-Way had in store for us.

Although the name may sound English, K-Way was actually born in northern France. Its legendary nylon windbreaker was created in 1965 by Léon-Claude Duhamel, the son of a fabric manufacturer from Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Without intending to, the outwear brand, which is not only French but also Italian in origin, has contributed to changing the expectations and attitudes of our time by elevating technical fashion to high fashion, by parading at Milan Fashion Week or by collaborating with brands such as COMME des GARÇONS. Now, K-Way takes us to the island of Ortigia (Sicily) to enjoy OSS.

Thanks to the K-Way team, from 27th to 30th July we enjoyed three intense days with performances and DJ Sets from artists such as Acid Arab, John Talabot, Badsista, DJ Plead, CCL b2b Physical Therapy, Iris Drew b2b Octo Octa, Joy Orbison, Marina Herlop, Francesca Heart and much more. But we were not alone, creatives from all over the world joined us for the weekend: Paula Sanz, Javier Darder, Rayan Laviolette, Nathan Joseph, Camille Martinot, among others. A musical experience that combined traditional Mediterranean rhythms with new electronic trends.

In addition to the festival, the boat parties, with the support of K-Way, were an unmissable event to get to know the island from a different perspective without giving up the live concerts and DJ sets at the afterparties. In fact, sailing the high seas was part of Flag Planting in Nationless Waters, a project by AAU ANASTAS for the OSS that the outwear brand wanted to echo. “We invited artists to raise their flags to express what they are trying to achieve beyond the establishment, beyond power structures, beyond state boundaries, beyond doxa and above the international nationless water”.
