Everything you need to know about Coperni’s new bag made from air

Paris Fashion Week never ceases to surprise us, if first it was Georgina Rodríguez parading for Vetements with a signed Cristiano Ronaldo football shirt, now it’s Coperni that has just revolutionised the fashion world and social networks with the announcement of its new bag that forms part of the FW24 collection. Coperni seems to have made it happen.

It’s nothing new for brands to take advantage of Fashion Week to present their new objects of desire, but the air bag that Coperni has presented is something that has never been done before. It’s called the “Air Swipe Bag” and is made of 99% air and 1% glass so it weighs just 33 grams. The bag has the following dimensions of 27x16x6cm and has been developed by Professor Ioannis Michaloudis.

Dr. Ioniss Muchaloudis, an academic, visual artist and researcher from Greece who is recognised worldwide as one of the leaders in the field of Art and Science, is also the first creator and researcher in the application of NASA’s silica aerogel nanomaterial in Fine Art. And with this, Coperni reaffirms his commitment to creating fashion of the future, but remember Bella Hadid’s Spray-on dress.

Made of ‘silica erogel’ a NASA nanomaterial, the lightest solid on planet earth. This delicate nanomaterial has been used by NASA to capture stardust. Coperni’s Air Swipe bag is the largest object ever made of this space-tech nanomaterial. After the success of Coperni’s crystal bag, will air bags be the new must-have of the season?

Coperni made fashion history by creating a dress by spraying it live on model Bella Hadid.
