Turning into trashy the most exclusive pieces, and the unstoppable trend that makes everything a little bit more street-ish, seems to be a permanent thing since every luxury brand is participating of it.
Fendi x Nigel Sylvester.
Nigel Sylvester (@nigelsylvester) was an absolute nobody for the general public. BMX rider, he became wildly popular after his Jordan I design for Nike last year, which sold out within minutes. From that moment, he went from being no one to be the one.
Non stop cycling, riding his bike, Sylvester made it discretely to Fendi’s HQ, in the stunning Palazzo Dela Civiltà Italiana, where they debuted their joint project.
From the streets of Queens to the magnificent Rome, in his two wheels and in Fendi from head to toe, this American rider presents himself in a very underground – like video that, just a few years ago, it would have been unthinkable for the Italian house.
Old school hip hop and a very clear statement: “Freedom is riding my bicycle around the world. Using it as my playground, as a place where I can dream and express myself” says Nigel.
This alliance, in the context of the “F is for Fendi” campaign, focuses on empathizing with the urban culture that reigns these days. And what’s best than a fully wrapped in Fendi’s logo BMX for the occasion?
“F is for Flowing” for this Casanova from the projects.
“F for Finale” to this post.
