FENDI unveiled its high jewellery collection during Paris Haute Couture Week

During Paris Haute Couture Week, FENDI took the opportunity to unveil its first high jewellery collection.

During Paris Haute Couture Week, FENDI not only took the opportunity to unveil its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, but also its first high jewellery collection.

Through “exploring the fragmentary nature of things”, Kim Jones moved away from Rome to look at “fragments of different cities, namely Kyoto, Paris and Rome. The fragmentary nature of things is echoed throughout the collection, like snippets of memory or the impression of things past, present and future.”

Kyoto is the starting point, rescuing fragments of kimono fabric and updating them using the Japanese printing and hand-painting technique known as Kata Yuzen. In this way, traditional silk panels are cut asymmetrically to design floor-length dresses.

FENDI thus establishes parallel connections between opposing concepts: East and West, femininity and masculinity, traditional and avant-garde, naturalness and artificiality?

But that’s not all. The Italian fashion house used the big occasion to celebrate the debut of its first high jewellery line. Entitled ‘Flavus’, the exclusive selection includes a necklace, earrings and a ring inspired by the same Latin term.
