With the arrival of the World Cup in Russia, one of the most anticipated collections reaches the most exclusive retailers. “Football, Mon Amour” is the collection that Virgil (@virgilabloh) has created in collaboration with Nike to celebrate the event.
The proposal, of course, is based on football, something that has always inspired Abloh’s work, who says: “I have always been inspired by the way European teams have a sponsorship printed on their chests. When I was working on this collection, I wanted to celebrate the different variants of the fonts“.
A collection of opposites in which black and white coexist with orange and blue details. The black and white checked T-shirt refers to the Croatian uniform, while the lion logo with orange and blue dots is a nod to the Netherlands. Each printed number connects in concept to a jersey that Virgil has worn during his playing days
A drop that will be sold out in seconds and will be available on June 14th through selected retailers and nike.com.
