GANT launches its latest up cycled collection in homage to its heritage

Featuring leftover fabric scraps that have been patchwork into new and unique garments, GANT launches its latest up cycled collection.

This Spring, GANT is pleased to launch its latest up cycled capsule collection: REMAKE SS22. Featuring leftover fabric scraps that have been patchwork into new and unique garments, the collection is available as an online exclusive on its website.

Dating back to the 1950s, GANT has experimented with repurposing fabric scraps in its productions. The latest collection features three upcycled pieces for men and two pieces for women in madras plaid. The collection is an homage to GANTs heritage, taking key inspiration from preppy style with the use of madras scraps.

“This REMAKE collection brings our heritage into the future. It is a perfect example of how an old technique and craftsmanship continues to be relevant today. The path to a circular fashion future requires us to look at every byproduct and figure out how it can be turned into something beautiful”, says Jessica Cederberg Wodmar, Global Sustainability & Innovation Director at GANT.

To celebrate the collection and the importance of repurposing with a sustainable mindset, the brand has partnered with fermenter, chef and author David Zilber, who features in the campaign. Having worked as the head of the Fermentation Lab at prestigious restaurant Noma and co-authored their New York Times bestselling book on fermentation; David is one of the most respected names in this innovative field where science meets creativity.
