GANT’s SS23 collection is all about eighties nostalgia

This spring, GANT continues to push its own DNA through a selection of garments that draw inspiration from its archive.

This spring, GANT continues to push its own DNA through a selection of garments that draw inspiration and reinterpretation from its archive.

GANT‘s spring arrives with plenty of nautical influences cleverly interspersed with classic garments and edgier oversized silhouettes from the 80s and 90s. Key pieces include cotton gabardine, wide chino trousers and a new take on the cropped jacket. The prints are watercolour, with whites and blues setting the tone for the collection and combined with sailboat graphics on the luxurious silk shirts.

In summer, maritime-inspired pastels and floral patterns are found in deconstructed forms. Loose-fitting kaftans, linen basics and knitted dresses are matched with beach-ready rattan accessories. Colours evolve and become bolder, taking their cue from the seventies and eighties. Hot pink, apricot and yellow catch the eye in sunflower and madras check prints that make classic dresses and two-pieces stand out. Silk scarves and oversized sunglasses complete the collection.

As for the men’s offering, GANT pays homage to yacht clubs while maintaining the aforementioned maritime focus. Modern tailoring and loungewear embody the season’s premium essentials in classic colours. There are also airy shirts, lightweight shorts with a relaxed fit and playful graphics. Finally, outerwear such as the satin jacket and fold-over windbreaker add a collegiate touch to the activewear aesthetic.
