Italian brand GCDS finds the Caribbean island of Barbados the ideal setting for the latest cover of DAZED. With Rihanna as the protagonist, the editorial is inspired by the Barbadian anthem “God Bless Bim”.
To capture the cover of DAZED‘s Fall 2021 issue, the team travelled to the Caribbean, RiRi‘s home country. Carlin Jacobs was in charge of capturing the images, while Imruh Asha was in charge of the styling. Thus, we find an editorial full of colours, independence and positive vibes.
The Barbadian community became one of the central elements of the shoot, with the participation of families from the island. All of them mimicked the looks from the GCDS AW21 collection. Yellow bodysuits and knee-high boots contrasted with the purple facades, while blue total looks were combined with the multicoloured houses in the background. Family portraits that exude positivity in spades.
