Artist Goyo will make history by becoming the first Afro-Latina to sing at the latest Victoria’s Secret show.
In 2019, women’s lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret announced to its millions of followers that its iconic fashion show would no longer be going on, due to the countless criticisms it received for the beauty standards it preached.
After four years of absence, the brand rethought its philosophy and announced its return last year. Just a few weeks ago, the brand announced that it would kick off its fashion show tour with a performance on Prime Video.
To our surprise, the artist performing during the 2023 show will be Goyo. The Colombian will make history by becoming the first Afro-Latina to sing at a Victoria’s Secret show alongside other artists.
During New York Fashion Week, Goyo gave an exclusive preview of her upcoming single “Tumbao”. The Colombian declared: “with my tumbao I am the first Afro-Latina woman and urban artist to be part of this show”.
Through the brand’s networks, we have also learned about some of the models who will be part of the cast. Among them, veterans Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima and others like Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Lila Moss, Em Rata, Winnie Harlow, Paloma, Julia Fox, Amelia Gray and more.
