Heaven by Marc Jacobs proposes the ultimate cultural exhibition in Los Angeles

‘Just Like Heaven’ will be on view at CONTROL Gallery until 18 January 2025.

Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Marc Jacobs brand, the exhibition looks back at some of the collaborations that have shaped the subversive sub-label it is today. It is curated by Sky Gellatly, co-founder of CONTROL and ICNCLST, along with the Heaven by Marc Jacobs team, and features work made over several decades.

An idea that combines the brand’s nostalgic signature with a keen eye for new talent. From Bladee‘s electric collage of candy wrappers to Alake Shilling‘s heart-stealing bear sculpture, each piece reinterprets and revels in the aesthetic ethos of the new creative generation, ethereal and acidic in every bite.

Thus, ‘Just Like Heaven’ brings together a total of 18 established and emerging artists, many of whom are the creators of the brand’s best-loved projects. These include Sofia Coppola, Petra Collins, FUTURA2000, Damien Hirst, Richard Kern and Marilyn Minter, alongside newcomers such as Chris Cadaver, Cactus Plant Flea Market, Eri Wakiyama, Julian Consuegra of Stray Rats, Keegan Dakkar, Manon Macasaet, Sara Rabin, Sara Yukiko and Sean Kennedy.
