Here’s the new collaboration between Reebok and Awake NY

Reebok and streetwear brand Awake NY have announced the launch of their second capsule collection together. Just one year after their first collaboration, the two have teamed up to conceive two classic Reebok models: Club-C and Classic Leather.

Following the successful launch of their first collaboration in March 2020, Awake NY is once again teaming up with Reebok on a new venture. This time, the New York streetwear brand has set out to version Reebok’s iconic Club-C and Classic Leather. Both models —in the “Sandtrap” and “Chalk” colorways— feature snakeskin-like detailing and Awake’s signature on the heel, tongue label and sock lining.

The source of inspiration for this capsule has been on the one hand the street culture of New York and on the other hand, the youth culture of London. As Awake explains, the intention of this collection was to “capture the synergies between both worlds and merge them through an authentic product”. And why did they choose these silhouettes? There is also an explanation. The selection of these models was a way to pay tribute to their late friend Gary Warnet. “I wish he could have been here during the design process, especially with the Classic Leather, where the street culture of the late ’80s and ’90s and NY’s love of the Club C is evident.”

This second Reebok x Awake NY capsule launched today exclusively at the New York-based brand’s online store. Starting March 13, it will be available on the Reebok website.
