One more week, from the HIGHXTAR team we are in charge of collecting the best plans to enjoy the weekend to the fullest. For all those without ideas… pay attention, here are our weekly recommendations.

FRIDAY 21 JANUARY

Sören Manzoni, one of the most important skateboard collectors in Europe, has curated the exhibition “Fusta i rodes: skateboard exhibit” at Casa Seat, a historical journey from the beginnings of this sport in the 1940s to the present day. In addition, on 15 January they have programmed a free event with prior registration to introduce the public to everything related to the skateboard lifestyle, linking culture and mobility.

SATURDAY 22 JANUARY

Spend an afternoon shopping at La Roca Village, a luxury shopping centre with beautiful pedestrian streets, where you will stroll through the best fashion shops of the moment. Here you’ll find extraordinary discounts of up to 60% on brands such as Armani, Burberry, Balmain, Calvin Klein, Diesel, Gucci, Givenchy, Kenzo, Karl Lagerfeld, Loewe, Lacoste, Moncler, Moschino, Prada, Saint Laurent and more.

SUNDAY 23 JANUARY

The Museum of Modernism reopens with an exhibition that explores the relationship between Paris and Barcelona by focusing on nine women who stood out on the artistic scene in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibition features artists such as Suzanne Valadon, Georgette Agutte, Lucie Cousturier and Olga Sacharoff. It will be on view until 4 February 2022 at the Museum of Modernism and the Ghothsland art gallery, priced at €12.

Since the tragic death of George Floyd, the #blacklivesmatter movement has spread beyond the United States, and many businesses in the black community have received tokens of support, especially virtual ones. In the restaurant Le Saraba -a meeting point for young Africans in Barcelona- they serve typical Senegalese dishes such as thiep, bissap, bouye or thiagri surrounded by portraits of Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Miles Davis or Muhammad Ali.
