TikTok is a source of inspiration and trend-setting. Recently, the platform has demonstrated the next level of makeup: creating 3D applications for your makeup with a silicone gun.
The TikTok makeup profiles have found a new use for one of the most useful DIY tools ever. It’s the silicone or glue gun. As it turns out, it is now being used to create make-up with 3D designs, i.e. facial stickers.
While the shapes and creations may be innovative, the technique is certainly not. Makeup artists have long used it to create three-dimensional tears as is the case with Euphoria in 2019. Certainly that’s how Vanessa Funes @cutcreaser made it trend on TikTok.
#hotgluegunmakeup is trending on the platform and there are already thousands of users creating their own looks. However, you should keep the following guidelines in mind: wait for the glue to cool before applying it and never apply it directly to the face or near the eyes.
