Humor and upcycling in the new Lacoste for FW21

Lacoste presents its new proposal for FW21 with a collection that maintains the brand’s heritage and is updated with a bit of humor.

Lacoste has just unveiled its proposal for next winter with the Parisian district of Front de Seine as a backdrop. The new collection designed by Louise Trotter combines the brand’s typical sporty essence with graphic codes that look like something out of a comic book.

The garments that shape the new collection respond to the current context with elegance, functionality and why not, humor. This latest installment of Lacoste not only pays homage to the tailoring heritage of its founder, René Lacoste, but also tricks the eye with expanded and reduced proportions, unexpected constructions and comic characters. In fact the mythical crocodile appears on this occasion larger than ever giving rise to a new iconography through claws, heads or flaming tennis balls.

The tracksuit and twinset concept is reinterpreted in multiple ways in both the men’s and women’s lines. And shirts, cardigans and jogging pants in cotton pique create subtle and enveloping sporty outfits. Also updated for the occasion are garments such as varsity-inspired jackets or coats, with knitted collars, heat-sealed tapes and lightweight nylon padding.

This proposal for the coming winter also includes crop tops and polychrome neoprene leggings, geometric prints that adorn polo shirts and, of course, backpacks and caps inspired by sports. In addition, upcycling continues this season in windbreakers and down coats. They have been made from fabrics from other collections.

To present this latest collection, photographer Sam Rock has immortalized the Lacoste FW21 garments in the streets of the Front de Seine neighborhood in Paris. You can find out more about it on the brand’s website.
