Whether in the gym, on the beach or on the dance floor, La Cachetona’s “Hypertrophy” session is bound to get you warmed up.
For hot summer days, the session is divided into the phases of a workout: warm up, hiit (high intensity), release, break and cooldown. The intention is to release all the emotional energy in our bodies through movement and sweat.
The artwork is made by 3D artist Thalia Escribano, inspired by the idea of a fitness raver that stays well hydrated and gives it all on the dancefloor or in the gym, as the case may be.
“I did this session mainly because I realized that in the gym I needed a session that remained constant and accompanied me during the workout, music for me is super key to keep me motivated and focused. The playlists were too short and the sessions I listened to only went in crescendo and in a workout you have to pause and then resume or you get exhausted too quickly,” says Cahetona. “I counted the heartbeats (BPMs) during my workout and I realized that they evolved quite similar to how my sessions normally evolve: from 100-150BPMs approx. To this I added a progressive descent or cooling down so as not to stay with my heart at the top and some breaks in between to control my breathing.”
As for the musical selection, rather than being limited to a genre, each phase of the session serves the energy that is to be transmitted, to start with the sensory connection and warm up the session opens with a little Amapiano. Fractal Fantasy, one of the most recent releases of Danna Paola and Steve Aoki ‘VTR3’, to raise the temperature. In a session dedicated to the movement could not miss the funk dance, which leaves no body indifferent by its highly movable energy. There are also peninsular garage classics like ALVVA’s ‘Dirección Barna’, perfect to keep the flow light and steady.
Being a session of La Cachetona could not miss a dose of Latin techno for the moments of high intensity and a couple of edits of summer songs like Water by Tyla, Lost by Frank Ocean (CHAMOS Edit) or Salió en Sol by Don Omar (Cimarrón x Brenda Edit) to give it a mega seasonal touch.
