Claire Waight Keller presents Givenchy’s Pre Fall 2019 collection, an exercise in minimalism.
“Inspired by Greek mythology, designer Claire Waight Keller presented one of the best collections of the French maison. An exercise in minimalism and architecture. The myth of Icarus was the starting point for a series of garments for men and women that represent the wardrobe of someone interested in simple lines, neutral colors, timeless pieces, oversized coats reminiscent of Hubert de Givenchy‘s first garments and textures that promise that what Claire has prepared for the fall/winter collection will be shocking”. So forceful is the Givenchy Pre-Fall 2019 collection in the words of Orquídea Alburquerque, Grazia’s editor.
A proposal in which accessories such as handbags take a back seat, unthinkable at the time of Tisci, to put the accent on jewelry accessories.

The collection draws on numerous myths, including the aforementioned Icarus. In Claire’s words they are “myths and stories that give meaning and meaning to the things that happen in our lives”.
