It’s not a tour, it is not a documentary, it is a tragedy in three acts directed by Santos Bacana, Cris Trenas and Rogelio González who accompany the artist C. Tangana for more than four years, from the genesis of the album “El Madrileño”, to the process of creation and launch of the world tour Sin cantar ni afinar.

ESTA AMBICIÓN DESMEDIDA’ will celebrate its world premiere at the 71st edition of the San Sebastian Festival. The premiere will take place in the Velodrome, one of the most popular sections of the event where major premieres are screened in front of 3,000 spectators on a 400 square metre screen.

This Movistar Plus+ Original, produced by Little Spain and commercially distributed by Sony Music Premium Content, will reach cinemas in Spain through Avalon. Specifically ‘ESTA AMBICIÓN DESMEDIDA’ will be released in cinemas on Thursday 26th October. Ticket reservations are recommended.

SYNOPSIS

After the success of the El Madrileño album, C. Tangana faces the challenge of creating the most ambitious tour of his career and revolutionising the concept of live performances. ESTA AMBICIÓN DESMEDIDA’ is a journey that follows the artist for more than four years. From the genesis of the album in Cuba to the conceptualisation of the show, the hostility of the negotiations, the rehearsals, the awkward conversations, the most intimate celebrations and the maelstrom of concerts throughout Spain and Latin America.

It is a time of artistic and vital transformation at all levels. In this context, important questions arise about family, commitment, creative genius, transcendence, chronic non-conformity and, above all, what comes next.

The project is the result of a very long journey in which the Little Spain team has immersed itself in the life of the protagonist from a very privileged point of intimacy. So much so that the line between the real and the represented, the character and the person, the creators and the work is blurred. A proposal radically different from what is expected from the film of a figure who is enigmatic even for those closest to him.
