Invisible sculpture sold for 15.000€

Italian artist Salvatore Grau has sold an invisible sculpture to the Milanese auction house Art-Rite for no less than 15,000 euros.

Italian artist Salvatore Garau has just sold an invisible sculpture, made of “air and spirit”, for no less than 15,000 euros.

No, the image above is no joke. It is “Io Sono”, the work of art signed by Salvatore Garau that, as he himself explains, does not exist in a material form and represents a void. He does not need to swear… The sculpture —to call it somehow— is conceived to be exhibited in a square space of 5×5. Moreover, it must be exhibited in a private place free of obstacles where neither lighting nor climate control is necessary, lest it be damaged.

“The vacuum is nothing but a space full of energy, and even if we empty it and there is nothing left, according to Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, that ‘nothing’ has a weight. Therefore, it has energy that condenses and transforms into particles, that is, into us,” the Italian artist recounted.

And who bought it, you may ask? Well, the Milanese auction house Art-Rite, which after paying 15,000 euros already has this invisible sculpture and of course, a certificate of authentication to prove that it exists, because of course, anyone would say otherwise.

As we have told you about art, but you haven’t really seen anything, you can take a look at some visible works here.
